Past Client Case Studies
Client: Olive - 12 Months Old
Sleep Issues: Multiple wake ups overnight, fighting bedtime, falling asleep on parents
2 week Sleep Support Journey…..
“I don’t know what to do”. Were this Mum’s words in our first call (my free 15 minute discovery call). She spoke about how Olive’s sleep had gone down hill in the past few months, to the point that they were experiencing cot rejection and therefore holding Olive to sleep each night. It then made for a tense transfer to her cot hoping she wouldn’t wake upon moving. They were experiencing an increase in night wakes with Olive occasionally being awake for 2 hours in the middle of the night. Olive had recently started in nursery and needed restorative sleep to complement her busy days at nursery.
Something had to change, so that the whole family could get the rest that they needed. Parents booked in for my 2 week support package and we got started on changing Olive’s association with her cot. Following my sleep plan closely, Mum managed to build confidence in the cot so it wasn’t such a scary place for Olive.
Parents followed my settling method consistently to ensure Olive responded well to the change in habits. Within 5 days she was sleeping all the way through til approx. 5:30am. We then worked on the early starts and managed to get her sleeping until 6:30am consistently by the end of the 2 weeks. Naps began to lengthen by the second week and Mum commented on how Olive appeared happier in herself and noticed how her eating habits had improved too.
Here is a message Mum sent me at the end of the 2 weeks, Mum is so pleased that Olive’s sleep has improved, but alo her overall wellbeing!
Client: Noah - 6 Months Old
Sleep Issues: Held to sleep, frequent waking overnight, Mum back to work very soon
2 week Sleep Support Journey…..
This Mum was back to work next month and needed to change up Noah’s sleep so she felt well rested to return to work.
Noah became reliant on being rocked to sleep for both naps and at bedtime. Mum felt this wasn’t sustainable anymore and wanted to be able to put Noah down for sleep without fuss. Whilst Mum is at work, he will be cared for by family and she didn’t want sleep to be difficult to manage for them. He was often waking early at 5am and taking just 30 minute naps every day. She was also contemplating moving him into his own room but wasn’t confident this would go well.
So, she booked my 2 week support package to work on the above sleep issues. We discussed moving him to his own room and felt now was the right time. He was already in his big cot so was half way there to moving to his own space. We made a plan for settling him to sleep and got to work on that over the 2 weeks. Trusting that following this plan consistently, would mean slowly his naps would lengthen.
Within 3 days he was going down in his cot awake and falling asleep independently. Within a week this was a consistent, each nap and at bedtime he was happy being placed down awake in his cot, falling asleep independently. We next worked on the early wakes, he was consistently waking at 5am. Mum followed my approach to early wakes and gradually we saw wakes at 6am. We looked at hunger as a cause for his wakes and ensured he still had x1 night feed to support his sleep in the early hours. Naps began to lengthen too and we began to see more than 30 minutes at each nap.
Here is a message Mum sent following the 2 week support. A well rested Mum, ready to go back to work knowing her baby is a confident sleeper.
